Compatible software, chosen for you
Help picking an accounting package that suits your business, its needs and your budget, and that meets HMRC's requirements.
MTD – Making Tax Digital
HMRC is moving tax reporting into software and onto a quarterly rhythm. We choose the software, move your records across, and file the submissions.
The service
Making Tax Digital is HMRC's programme for moving tax reporting off paper and out of spreadsheets. Instead of one annual return assembled from a shoebox of receipts, records are kept in compatible software and submitted digitally through the year. It already applies to VAT-registered businesses, and it is being extended to income tax self assessment for the self-employed and for landlords.
For most businesses the change is less about tax and more about bookkeeping. The figures HMRC wants are the figures you should have anyway — what came in, what went out, and what the VAT position is at any point. MTD simply means they have to be recorded as you go, in software that can talk to HMRC, rather than reconstructed at year end.
We set that up and then run it with you. That means choosing software that fits how the business actually works, moving existing records across without losing history, and making the quarterly submissions on time. As a Xero Gold Partner we do a good deal of this work, but we are not tied to one package — the right choice depends on the business, not on us.

What it means for you
What's included
Help picking an accounting package that suits your business, its needs and your budget, and that meets HMRC's requirements.
Your existing records moved across and opening balances agreed, so the history is not lost when the software changes.
Income and expenditure recorded as it happens, reconciled regularly, and kept in the form HMRC expects.
The periodic updates prepared from your records and filed on time, so the deadlines are managed for you.
VAT returns prepared and submitted digitally, with the records behind them kept straight through the quarter.
Someone to ask when the software does something unexpected, and a named client manager who knows your business.
How it works
We start from your current records and software, not from a product we want to sell you.
Compatible software chosen, records moved across and opening balances agreed, so no history is lost.
Records reconciled through the year and the periodic updates filed on time, with someone to ask when you need one.
Areas we serve
Making Tax Digital lands differently depending on how a business keeps its records. A sole trader working from bank statements needs a different answer from a limited company already running payroll and VAT through software. We look at what you have before recommending anything.
The work itself is ordinary bookkeeping done properly and on a schedule: records kept as the year goes along, reconciled regularly, and submitted when they are due. Your client manager is the same person throughout, so nothing has to be explained twice.
